Mystic

She was looked upon and all did espy
The flame that burned within her eyes

For each new day she sang her song
Cared not who listened just rang her gong

Some there were who listened well
Others gave no mind to what you had to tell

I who watched from afar
Knew you beheld the truth like a star

For even though they burned you down
Tore your wings, forced your frown

They knew not why, just angry words
And the bite of their fear was heard

Eyes they closed and heart as well
And yet you survived barely to tell

The years did roll and moved you still
Yet clipped wings with air not filled

And still you strove for you knew
You would fly again, staying true
